He ended military service on 24 May 1919 at Camp Sherman, Ohio, USA; Got mumps in Argonne Forest & returned home early. Pvt Battery A 309 Field Artillery, US Army.^2,3 Charles E and Everett Dowling had tickets to Ohio State - Michigan game Nov 25, 1950, but didn't go to the game because of the huge Thanksgiving Day snowstorm that hit Ohio. The game ended 9-3 Michigan won. Michigan had 27 yards rushing, OSU had 16 yards rushing. There were no offensive TDs. Dad (CES) brought Mom, Rita and I (ECS) to Belmont, Ohio on Wednesday evening when there was no snow, and went home Thursday night to work Friday.. He came back to Belmont Friday night in very bad snow conditions.
